French Immersion

French Immersion

Our school offers French Immersion as an optional program for students starting in Grade 9.

CCI’s program is an extension of the elementary school French Immersion Program. The aim of our program is to further develop and refine the student’s language skills through an array of exciting academic activities. Our French courses offer a wide variety of opportunities for the students to explore French culture in Canada and around the world.

CCI FI Courses

  • Grade 9 - Français, Géographie, Education physique
  • Grade 10 - Français, Histoire, Citoyennété et Carrières
  • Grade 11 - Français, Cultures du monde (World Cultures)
  • Grade 12 - Français, Enjeux mondiaux (World Issues)

At the secondary level, students in French Immersion take four (4) FSL courses and accumulate an additional six (6) credits in other subjects where the language of instruction is French.

Students who complete the ten (10) secondary courses including four (4) French courses receive a ˿Ƶ District School Board Immersion Certificate. Students who leave the French Immersion Program prior to full completion of the ten (10) courses receive an “Attestation des cours” indicating the titles of the courses they have completed.
